Il governo Berlusconi ha fallito la sua missione liberale «perché non ci può essere rivoluzione partendo dall’alto». Invece, «si è pensato che bastasse rinforzare il potere di un uomo solo al potere» per sciogliere i nodi che costringono il paese.
Giorgio Vittadini, colonna portante di Cl e storico fondatore della Compagnia delle Opere (che ha guidato fino al 2003), manda in soffitta il berlusconismo. E lo fa isolando il baco che ha viziato gli albori della promessa rivoluzione liberale. L’illusione, spiega Vittadini, è nel metodo. La via giusta non avrebbe generato one man show.
Piuttosto, avrebbe fatto «perdere potere politico», per il «venir meno della mediazione». Alla strada maestra Vittadini dà un nome: «Sussidiarietà». Una missione, di più, un credo, che segna la rotta della Fondazione, di cui lo stesso è presidente. E che Vittadini usa come fosse una lente, per scrutare le rughe della società. Così, «sussidiarietà» diventa un mantra; ripetuto dalla culla alla tomba delle umane cose, ma in netta antitesi rispetto alle culture politiche del ‘900. E alle sue degenerazioni totalitarie. Infatti, a differenza di esse, a far da bussola nelle pieghe del paese non sono i lacciuoli, di volta in volta da sciogliere o stringere, per governare la natura egoista dell’uomo. Al contrario, la bussola è la persona: «L’uomo, da liberare con le sue energie, i suoi talenti. Unico vero propulsore della crescita».
Oggi come ieri, dinanzi alla crisi mondiale, tornano a confrontarsi le due grandi vie del capitalismo. Lo stato in economia (socialdemocrazia) e lo stato mero regolatore (liberismo). Lei da che parte sta?
